How do the ARTeVA® Single-Use Pinch Valves Work?
ARTeVA® single-use pinch valves control fluid flow by externally compressing disposable tubing, regulating or fully stopping flow without any direct contact between the valve mechanism and the process fluid. Because all product-contact surfaces are defined by the single-use tubing, flow control is achieved without introducing internal wetted components, dead legs, or moving parts into the fluid path, supporting sterile operation in closed bioprocessing systems.
The valve body incorporates internal stem guides that ensure controlled, repeatable compression of the tubing during actuation. These guides maintain consistent alignment and closing force over repeated cycles, supporting reliable flow control and reducing variability caused by misalignment or uneven tubing deformation. By mechanically guiding the actuation motion while keeping all product-contact surfaces confined to the disposable tubing, the design maintains process integrity while improving operational consistency in single-use and GMP bioprocessing environments.
