Single Use Pinch Valves for Bioprocessing
Manual, Pneumatic & Electronic Pinch Valves for Biopharma and Bioprocessing Applications
Pinch valves provide precise, low-shear flow control for modern bioprocessing, enabling sterile operation without the need for cleaning, maintenance or validation. Engineered for upstream and downstream applications, these valves control fluid flow by externally compressing single-use tubing, eliminating product contact with moving parts and reducing contamination risk.
Available in motorized, pneumatic and manual configurations, the single-use pinch valves integrate seamlessly into disposable assemblies, mixing systems, filtration skids, perfusion setups and continuous bioprocessing platforms. With gamma-ready materials, fast actuation and compatibility across a wide range of tubing sizes, they deliver reliable and repeatable performance for biopharma, cell therapy, mRNA and vaccine manufacturing workflows.
As a single-use pinch valve designed specifically for bioprocessing applications, the ARTeVA platform supports sterile fluid handling in GMP manufacturing environments where contamination control and process repeatability are critical. Because the valve actuates disposable tubing rather than contacting the fluid directly, it is commonly used in single-use assemblies, mixing and filtration systems, perfusion skids, and other closed bioprocess systems. ARTeVA single-use pinch valves are compatible with a wide range of tubing sizes and materials used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, making them suitable for applications across upstream and downstream processing, including cell therapy, mRNA, and vaccine workflows.
How do the ARTeVA® Single-Use Pinch Valves Work?
ARTeVA® single-use pinch valves control fluid flow by externally compressing disposable tubing, regulating or fully stopping flow without any direct contact between the valve mechanism and the process fluid. Because all product-contact surfaces are defined by the single-use tubing, flow control is achieved without introducing internal wetted components, dead legs, or moving parts into the fluid path, supporting sterile operation in closed bioprocessing systems.
The valve body incorporates internal stem guides that ensure controlled, repeatable compression of the tubing during actuation. These guides maintain consistent alignment and closing force over repeated cycles, supporting reliable flow control and reducing variability caused by misalignment or uneven tubing deformation. By mechanically guiding the actuation motion while keeping all product-contact surfaces confined to the disposable tubing, the design maintains process integrity while improving operational consistency in single-use and GMP bioprocessing environments.
ARTeVA single-use pinch valves are available in manual and actuated configurations, including pneumatic, motorized, and electronically actuated options, allowing integration into single-use assemblies, mixing and filtration skids, and automated bioprocessing platforms. The result is a flexible flow control solution that supports reliable process operation across upstream and downstream applications, from development through GMP manufacturing.
