Tank Bottom Valves
Stainless Steel Tank Bottom Diaphragm Valves for Biopharma

Description

Aquasyn™ tank-bottom diaphragm valves are engineered specifically for bioprocessing vessels where complete drainage, minimal hold-up and sterile single-use or stainless-steel assemblies are essential. Designed for mounting at the base of process tanks, vessels or mixers, these valves eliminate dead-legs, reduce residual product and simplify cleaning or turnover in GMP environments. Available in welded-flange and Tri-Clamp configurations, the Aquasyn™ tank-bottom valves support high-purity polishing, buffer/media preparation, harvest operations and large-scale bioreactor discharge. Constructed from 316 L stainless steel (with options for Hastelloy or AL6XN) and machined for electropolished finishes, the diaphragm body ensures consistent performance, repeatability and full integration into disposable or hybrid system designs.

FAQ's

What is a tank bottom valve?

A tank bottom valve is a specialized diaphragm valve installed at the lowest point of a vessel or tank. It’s engineered to allow complete drainage of liquids with minimal hold-up volume, ensuring that product, buffer, or media can be discharged efficiently. In biopharma and pharmaceutical manufacturing, tank bottom valves are used to maintain hygienic conditions and prevent product loss during cleaning or batch changeover.

Why choose an Aquasyn tank bottom valve?

Aquasyn tank bottom valves are machined from solid 316L stainless steel and engineered for maximum drainability and zero dead-leg geometry. The compact body design and precision weld or tri-clamp connections eliminate residue and simplify validation.

Are Aquasyn tank bottom valves customizable?

Yes. Aquasyn offers tank bottom valves in various body styles, connection sizes, and orientations — including vertical, 45°, or 90° outlet options. They can also integrate accessories such as sensing instrumentation, automation bonnets, and control valves for full process integration.

Are Aquasyn tank bottom valves compatible with existing systems?

Yes. They are fully compatible with standard bioprocessing equipment and diaphragm assemblies. Each valve uses the same high-purity diaphragms and bonnet assemblies as Aquasyn’s other valve lines, simplifying maintenance and spare part management.

What makes Aquasyn tank bottom valves different?

Aquasyn tank bottom valves are designed with true zero-static geometry, machined from solid 316L stainless steel, and polished to electropolished finishes as low as 10 µin Ra. Each valve is built to ASME BPE standards and is available with standard or custom weir angles to optimize drainability for your specific vessel design.
