Four Bag Types, Infinite Configurations

Every bioprocess has different space, volume, flow and mounting requirements. We manufacture four distinct single-use bag geometries, each fully customisable to your specification.

2D
2D Pillow Bags Up to 50L

Classic flat pillow bag geometry. Two sheets of multilayer film heat-sealed around the perimeter to create a compact, space-efficient containment solution for storage, transfer and sampling.

2.5
2.5D Hybrid Bags Up to 30L

A hybrid geometry that combines the best of both worlds. The 3D tapered base accommodates larger sanitary clamp fittings (up to 4" TC) as the bottom outlet for improved drainage, while the 2D top and sides maintain a slim profile for tight spaces.

Why Choose Custom Single-Use Bags?

Standard catalogue bags force your process to adapt to the container. Custom single-use bags are designed around your process from the start.

Port Placement Your Process Needs

Off-the-shelf bags come with fixed port positions. Custom bags let you specify every port type, size and location to match your exact fluid path, reducing dead volume and simplifying connections.

📏
Geometry That Fits Your Facility

Standard dimensions rarely match available space. Whether you need a slim 2.5D profile for tight cabinets or a full 3D chamber for larger volumes, custom geometry means the bag fits your facility.

🔗
Seamless System Integration

When bags, tubing and fittings come from different suppliers, integration gaps are inevitable. We supply bags alongside LSR overmolded components and complete assemblies, giving you single-point accountability.

📈
No Minimum Overkill

Large suppliers often mandate high MOQs for custom configurations. As a focused, vertically integrated manufacturer, we deliver custom bag designs without the volume commitments that make bespoke solutions impractical.

Your Process. Your Bag. One Supplier.

From a single custom bag to a fully integrated bespoke bioprocessing system, MonoBiologics engineers and manufactures single-use solutions that match your exact requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Single-Use Bag FAQs

Everything you need to know about our custom bioprocessing bags.

What bag geometries does MonoBiologics offer?+
We manufacture four distinct single-use bag geometries: 2D pillow bags (up to 50L), 2.5D hybrid bags (up to 30L), 3D bags for larger volumes, and fully bespoke geometries. Each is built to your specification using USP Class VI compliant multilayer film.
What is a 2.5D bag and when should I use one?+
A 2.5D bag is a hybrid design that combines a three-dimensional tapered base with flat 2D sides and top. This geometry accommodates larger bottom outlet fittings (up to 4" sanitary clamp) for improved gravity drainage, while the slim upper profile fits into tight spaces. It bridges the gap between compact 2D pillow bags and full 3D constructions, making it ideal for applications where complete drainage and space efficiency are both critical.
What materials are used to construct your single-use bags?+
All bags use a USP Class VI compliant multilayer film at 13.5 mil total thickness. The film features an inert PE inner contact layer for biocompatibility, structural core layers for mechanical strength, and an EVOH outer layer providing a durable gas barrier. This construction delivers chemical resistance, low extractables, and reliable containment integrity.
What port fittings are available for custom bags?+
We offer hose barb fittings from 1/8" through 1", and sanitary clamp (tri-clamp) fittings in 1.5", 3" and 4" sizes. All ports can be placed at any location on the bag to match your fluid path requirements. Fittings can also be supplied with LSR overmolded connectors for secure, leak-free integration.
What is the difference between 2D and 3D bioprocess bags?+
2D bags (pillow bags) are made from two flat sheets of film sealed around the perimeter. They are compact, cost-effective and suited for volumes up to 50L. 3D bags use multiple panels to create a free-standing three-dimensional structure suited for larger volumes and more complex porting arrangements. 3D bags accommodate top and bottom ports, stainless steel enclosures, and overhead suspension systems.
What mounting options do you offer?+
We offer integral eyelets, integral hanger sleeves, stainless steel enclosures, and overhead suspension systems. All mounting configurations are customised to fit your existing equipment and facility layout, ensuring bags integrate seamlessly into your process environment.
Can your bags be supplied as part of a complete single-use assembly?+
Yes. As a vertically integrated manufacturer, we supply bags alongside complete single-use assemblies, LSR overmolded connectors, PIXER pumps, and single-use valves. This means your entire fluid path, from bag to pump to valve, comes from one supplier with single-point accountability.
What applications are your bags suited for?+
Our custom bags support a wide range of bioprocessing applications including media and buffer preparation, storage and transfer, sampling, bioreactor harvest collection, downstream processing, and freeze-thaw operations. Each bag is designed around the specific flow, volume and integration requirements of the application.
How does the custom bag design process work?+
We start by understanding your process requirements: volumes, flow rates, port types, mounting constraints and integration needs. From there, our engineering team designs the bag geometry, specifies film and fitting materials, and produces prototypes for evaluation. Once approved, we manufacture in our cleanroom facility with full documentation and traceability.
Why choose MonoBiologics for single-use bags?+
MonoBiologics is a vertically integrated single-use bioprocessing supplier. We don't just manufacture bags, we engineer complete solutions. By pairing custom bags with our LSR overmolding capabilities, single-use assemblies, and bespoke process systems, we eliminate the integration gaps and finger-pointing that come from sourcing components from multiple vendors. One supplier, one point of contact, one standard of quality.
