Single-Use Motorized Pinch Valve
Programmable sterile flow control on 24 V DC. 704-step positioning with optional encoder feedback, ¼″ to 1″ tubing OD.
Our motorized pinch valves provide precise and reliable control of fluid flow in tubing, regardless of material composition. A unique central pinch point within an encapsulated valve body seat delivers closure reliability and consistent flow, even after multiple cycles. Manufactured from high-quality 316L stainless steel to meet rigorous industry standards for durability and hygiene, and available in multiple sizes to accommodate both silicone and braided tubing with outer diameters ranging from ¼ in. (6.4 mm) to 1 in. (25.4 mm). Part of our single-use pinch valve range.

Programmable control, no compressed air
The motorized variant replaces the handwheel and the air line with a stepper drive. You set position in software, not by hand.
Programmable positioning
704 steps of stroke resolution, microsteppable for finer increments. The valve throttles as well as opening and closing.
Position confirmed
Optional encoder feedback closes the loop with your controller, so commanded position can be verified and logged.
No compressed air
Runs entirely on 24 V DC. One less utility to qualify and one less facility dependency.
Pharma 4.0 ready
Standard M12 connectors integrate directly with PLC and SCADA layers for automated batch records.
IP 65 rated
Sealed against dust and low-pressure water jets, suitable for washdown environments.
Reusable mechanism
The 316L pinch head is autoclavable and reused. Only the tubing is replaced between batches.
Choosing between actuation options
If your line has plant air and high cycle counts, the pneumatic pinch valve is the simpler choice. If there are no utilities at all (benchtop, carts, process development), use the manual pinch valve. Choose motorized when you need commanded position, feedback and throttling. Full side-by-side comparison on the single-use pinch valve overview.
Where the motorized valve is used
Automated single-use processes where valve position must be commanded, verified and recorded.
Automated skids
Recipe-driven sequencing across multiple valve points, with position confirmed back to the controller at every step.
Perfusion circuits
Controlled throttling on continuous cell culture lines, where partial opening matters as much as full shut-off.
Filtration & TFF control
The same architecture used in our single-use TFF system for retentate and permeate flow control.
Media & buffer transfer
Automated distribution from single-use bags through pre-assembled flow paths, with no operator intervention.
Closed-system operations
Aseptic transfer and fill workflows where the flow path stays disposable end to end and every action is logged.
Diversion & sampling
Programmed diversion to waste or sample lines without disturbing the main product stream.

Motorized Pinch Valve FAQ
What voltage does the motorized pinch valve run on?
24 V DC. No compressed air is required.
How precise is the positioning?
Stroke resolution is 704 steps and can be microstepped for finer increments, so the valve throttles as well as fully opening and closing.
Does it provide position feedback?
Optional encoder feedback is available via the M12 8-pin connector. The 5-pin connector is used for non-encoder configurations.
What is the ingress protection rating?
IP 65.
What ambient temperature range is it rated for?
−10 °C to 50 °C (14 °F to 122 °F). Process temperature is separately determined by the tubing material you select.
How does it integrate with a PLC or SCADA system?
Through standard M12 connectors, with optional encoder feedback for closed-loop confirmation. This supports Pharma 4.0 architectures and automated batch records.
How heavy is the valve?
Between 680 g and 3.6 kg (1.5 lb to 7.9 lb) depending on the size selected.
How does it compare to a single-use diaphragm valve?
A motorized pinch valve is a commanded shut-off and throttling device with no wetted components. A single-use diaphragm valve has a disposable wetted body and offers finer proportional pressure control.
How is the valve installed and serviced?
Installation is tool-free: the clamp-on body pinches directly onto your tubing with no special fittings. The 316L pinch head is reusable and autoclavable, so only the tubing is replaced between batches.
What qualification documentation is available?
Material of Construction (MOC) certification is available on request. Additional qualification documents are provided per project scope, contact our engineering team with your requirements.
Is the valve compatible with gamma-irradiated tubing?
Yes. Sterilization is handled at the tubing level, so the valve works with gamma-irradiated single-use tubing without modification.
What is the full tubing size range covered?
¼ in. (6.4 mm) up to 1 in. (25.4 mm) outer diameter, covering the standard range of single-use silicone and braided tubing.
