Benchtop LSR Metering & Mixing System
Compact 1:1 fixed-ratio metering and mixing for silicone formulation development.
The MB-50-X delivers precise 1:1 fixed-ratio dispensing of liquid silicone rubber at bench scale, handling viscosities from 50,000 to 2,000,000 cps. Fed from a 20 oz Semco cartridge with a compact 12 in. x 30 in. footprint, it is built for process development, formulation screening and low-volume production. Part of our LSR overmolding machine platform, alongside the production-scale system and 8-ton molding press.

How Benchtop Metering & Mixing Works
The MB-50-X meters two silicone components from a 20 oz Semco cartridge at a fixed 1:1 ratio, then mixes and dispenses them through a static mixer by the stroke rather than continuous flow — well matched to the shorter runs typical of formulation work. As a compact biologics dispenser, it's sized to sit on a standard bench without dedicated infrastructure, drawing only compressed air to operate.
MonoBiologics manufactures the MB-50-X in-house as part of a complete LSR metering, mixing and molding platform. Because it uses the same fixed 1:1 ratio as the Production LSR Metering & Mixing System, formulations developed here transfer directly to production scale without re-validation, and pair with the 8-Ton LSR Molding Press to complete the molding cell.
Precise 1:1 mixing at bench scale
The entry point into our LSR machine platform, sized for development, not production.
Bench-to-production consistency
Same fixed 1:1 ratio principle as the MB-600-X production system.
Compact footprint
12 in. x 30 in., ~50 lbs, fits on a standard bench.
Fast changeover
Cartridge-fed with minimal setup between formulations.
Precise ratio control
No dosing drift across cycles.
Industrial & medical grades
Match specification to application from day one.
Low investment
The most economical way onto the platform.
Where the benchtop system is used
Formulation development & screening
Bench-scale trials before committing to production volumes.
Low-volume production runs
Cost-effective dispensing for small batch sizes.
Medical device R&D
Medical-grade dispensing for early-stage device development.
Process scale-up validation
Prove the process before moving to the production system.
Academic & contract labs
Compact footprint for shared lab environments.
Bioprocess component prototyping
Early-stage components for single-use assemblies.
Scaling beyond the bench?
The Production LSR Metering & Mixing System handles up to 600 cc/min at the same fixed 1:1 ratio. Pair either system with the 8-Ton LSR Molding Press for a complete cure cycle.

Benchtop LSR System FAQ
What viscosity range can the benchtop system handle?
50,000 to 2,000,000 cps.
What is the mixing ratio?
Fixed 1:1, two-component.
How is the system fed?
A 20 oz Semco cartridge.
What is the output pressure range?
0 – 3,000 psi.
What are the weight and footprint?
~50 lbs, on a 12 in. x 30 in. footprint.
Is it available in medical grade?
Yes, industrial and medical grades are both available.
Can formulations scale to production?
Yes, the production system uses the same fixed 1:1 ratio principle.
Does it require compressed air?
Yes, the system is fully pneumatic.
What's the difference versus the production system?
Output volume and feed method: the benchtop system is cartridge-fed up to 50 cc/stroke, the production system is pail-fed up to 600 cc/min.
Do I need a separate molding press?
Yes, pair the meter/mix system with the 8-Ton LSR Molding Press for molding and curing.
